Deities

From Tides of Amoraithe

The people of Athelonesia worship the pantheon of the Known Gods.

First God(s)

The First Gods arose after Elegrim, the creator and most well-known of these, imprisoned the primordials and their leader, a being known only by an ominous title, the Fell Storm.

Apocryphal sources state that Elegrim was once a member of a cadre of primordials who ascended to the level of a true deity at the founding of or just before the Age of Union. However, many sources place him as the only one of his kind. Scholars place Erithniu as another member of this fraternity of primal deities. Other such beings, if they existed, remain undocumented and have all since been lost to time.

When Elegrim abandoned the empyreans during the Age of Union because of their hubris, the age of the First Gods ended.

Known Gods

After Elegrim went to self-imposed exile, new gods appeared in his wake. The first among them was Rolayan and his wife Eloele, followed by their sibling Amarras, their divine twin children Athanasia and Tyrix, and finally, the interloper deity Velokkhe.

Apocryphal sources have stated that the Known Gods are aspects of Elegrim, created to build a bridge to mortals to bring them back into his grace eventually.
